Temcor

Greatario Engineered Storage Systems has been the authorized dealer for Temcor Aluminum Covers for nearly 20 years. Temcor, founded in 1964, designs, manufactures and erects architectural and environmental enclosures. These are primarily clear span domes and related space frames fabricated mostly from aluminum used for covering tankage of all types as well as architectural applications such as arenas, gymnasiums, theaters and auditoriums.

Over 5,000 Temcor domes have been installed throughout the world. Temcor built the first aluminum dome for a water storage tank in 1968, for a waste water tank in 1969, for a petroleum tank in 1977 and the world's largest free standing aluminum dome measuring 127 meters in diameter in 1982. All of these are still in service as are other Temcor domes withstanding the heat of a Middle Eastern desert, typhoon winds of 300 kilometers per hour on a Pacific Island and uneven snow loads of 1,500 kilograms per square meter in the Antarctic.

Temcor products are precision fabricated to aircraft tolerances. Time tested maintenance free corrosion resistant materials are used such as proven aluminum alloys, stainless steel fasteners and silicone rubber sealants and gaskets.

Dome Covers

Strength and Versatility Through Timeless Geometry

The Temcor Aluminum Dome's clear span design and integral tension ring eliminates the need for roof columns and extensive reinforcement of tank walls. And its triangulated space truss system of wide-flange extrusions skinned with triangular panels makes it flexible enough for any operational need. Panels can be removed at will, the entire dome can be removed when required, and features such as doors, vents, hatches and skylight panels are easily installed.

Protecting Resources and the Environment

Water, waste water plants, and storage facilities are increasingly turning to the Temcor Aluminum Dome advantage.

In addition to low maintenance, low cost and low profile advantages, Temcor Aluminum Domes are versatile enough to permit a wide range of accessories important to the water and waste water industry.

And it's the dome's design that gives it many of its advantages. Using proprietary variations of geodesic geometry, Temcor Aluminum Domes are noted for their ability to meet exacting live load requirements by providing greater stiffness and strength, pound-for-pound, then any other dome geometry system.

Temcor domes have been designed for snow loads up to 165 pounds per square foot and windloads of up to 150 mph. And Temcor's panel design is specifically engineered to support loads of up to 500 pounds on any one square foot. Yet, Temcor domes weigh a mere five percent of conventional concrete equivalents.

Temcor domes promote process efficiency in cold climates, and they can't be beat for containment of odors and vapors. In fact, their low profile reduces vapor space. And their all-aluminum construction is completely resistant to hydrogen sulfide, chlorine and other corrosive vapors found in water and waste water treatment plants.

Flat Covers

Temcor Flat Covers reduce both Capital and maintenance Costs

Temcor all-aluminum flat covers are not only economical, they offer other practical advantages over traditional covers. Unlike concrete, they can be removed easily, and they don't spall. They weigh a fraction of what a steel cover weighs, and they don't corrode. Nor do they degrade under ultra-violet light like fiber-glass.

Temcor flat covers provide clear span solutions for spans of up to 30 feet, yet they can support loads of up to 500 pounds on any one square foot. It's this strength that also lends Temcor flat covers their flexibility.

Hatches, skylights, scrubbers and vents are installed easily.

Their low profile means less air volume to be contained and treated. And their interlocking male-to-female joint between panels allows for easy removal of any or all panels, each of which is designed to weigh a maximum of just 150 pounds. No heavy equipment is required for removal. With a minimum thickness of .090 inches, Temcor flat covers can take abuse and be removed countless times without losing their precisely engineered fit.

Where spans greater than 30 feet are required, Temcor's truss systems provide extended structural support to flat covers.

Temcor's complete line of industrial flat covers emerged from a combination of Temcor's quarter century expertise in aluminum enclosures, combined with considerable customer input. In many cases, the design, construction and testing of these products was a joint effort, resulting in superior enclosures satisfying the exacting needs of industrial customers worldwide.
